Although inspired by the hands of a baboon at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, the anatomy of this paw is deliberately distorted.

Natural fur is used along the forearm section, but artificial hair on the back of the hand and along the tops of the fingers was ventilated strand-by-strand into lace, which was then embedded in a layer of acrylic polymer "skin."
